KUMTOR GOLD COMPANY AND METSO SIGNED THE MEMORANDUM OF COOPERATION

Heads of Kumtor Gold Company Almazbek Baryktabasov and «Metso» Markku Terasvasara (Republic of Finland) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at promoting Kumtor Gold Company as a national platform for responsible gold mining.

The memorandum is aimed at creating prerequisites for cooperation between Kumtor Gold Company and Metso in implementation of strategic projects of Kumtor Gold Company and development of metallurgical industry in the Kyrgyz Republic as a whole.

It is about cooperation in such projects as processing solid tailings, improving and modernizing methods and technological processes for gold extraction through the use of advanced technologies used to improve the performance of environmentally friendly purification and gold extraction, including from hard-to-enrich and complex gold-bearing ores.

Cooperation between the two companies will cover environmentally friendly and promising projects in the steel industry using advanced technologies at the Kumtor mine.
