The training “Soil and Improvement of Soil Productivity by Means of Fertilizers. Process Chart and Seasonal Calendar” will be held for local communities by AgroLid experts at the Barskoon-based KOC’s Information Center on May 23-24, 2012.
The seminar’s objective is to raise the participants’ awareness of various soil types and application of various fertilizers for crop production purposes
A video course, “Soil Science”, developed by AgroLid experts under the ICCO-supported project “Let’s Keep the Earth Alive!”, will be shown to the training participants.
The participants will be given full information with regard to Kyrgyzstan’s soils, their status and fertility improvement methods.
Based on the training’s results, the participants will be required to develop a seasonal calendar and an apricot growing process chart.
This is one of the training sessions planned for the next six months to be held jointly with the Public Association “AgroLid” with the support of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit’s (GIZ’s) program “Promotion of sustainable economic development of the Kyrgyz Republic”, Dutch ICCO and Kumtor Operating Company. The purpose of the project is to create an easily recognizable brand, “apricots from Kyrgyzstan”. After being thus trained, the participants will conducr similar training sessions for the farmers at Farmers’ Field Schools.
