Last week Kumtor Gold Company provided charity support to three communities of Issyk-Kul and Chui oblasts. The Company employees delivered more than three hundred food gift baskets to the amount exceeding 180,000 soms to the aid recipients.
Members of the KGC Charity and Sponsorship Committee made a decision to meet requests from the Chui regional representative office of the National Red Crescent Society of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Balykchy municipal primary organization of the Deaf and Blind Association and the Public Foundation “Protection of Rights of Orphans.”
The volunteers delivered two hundred food gift baskets to the needy people supported by the Red Crescent Society. The Company employees personally visited them in Tokmok and Kara-Balta: they put additional foodstuff into the food gift baskets and spent the whole day with the elderly.
Employees of KGC Marshalling Yard in Balykchy also did not remain aloof from the request of the Deaf and Blind Association and delivered 108 packages of necessary foodstuff to Balykchy residents supported by the Association. Public Foundation “Protection of Rights of Orphans” received 60 packages of diapers for orphanages of Belovodsk, Tokmok and Osh oblast. Representatives of the Foundation will deliver and hand them over on their own.
“Kumtor Gold Company has been providing support to members of our Association for many years. Over the years of cooperation, the Company has funded repairs in our office, provided necessary materials and equipment, as well as helps us to hold our small celebrations on an annual basis. The company is our reliable partner, which is always ready to support us,” Chairman of the Balykchy Blind and Deaf Association Edik Shekenov noted.
For Information: Since 2015, KGC has been supporting a number of events arranged by Public Foundation “Protection of Rights of Orphans,” which included humanitarian aid and purchase of New Year holiday gifts for orphaned children, as well as support of an educational project for the children from orphanages. The Balykchy primary organization “The Kyrgyz Blind and Deaf Association” has been receiving support from Kumtor Gold Company since 2013. The Association received technical support from the Company, including necessary equipment, office appliances, furniture and food gift baskets for its needy members. In 2013, major repairs of the office were made at the expense of funds allocated by the Company.
