This week Kumtor employees handed over 768 New Year gifts to children from orphanages, crisis centers and low-income families of Balykchy town, Jeti-Oguz and Ton regions of Issyk-Kul oblast.
This year, traditional sweets have been purchased for the money raised by the company employees, because the decision of the Bishkek Interdistrict Court, banning the company from transferring its assets, is still in force, since June 3, 2016. In this regard, the company was unable to transfer funds for the purchase of gifts for needy children of Issyk-Kul oblast. However, the company employees have not remained aloof and organized traditional New Year’s greetings from Father Frost for children of Issyk-Kul oblast. The workers of the mine, marshalling yard and head office have collected KGS 259,500 and bought sweets.
Representatives of the Sustainable Development Department delivered New Year gifts to the recipients on behalf of the company. The local authorities provided lists of children in need and organized the New Year’s matinees for children all over the oblast. Employees of Balykchy Marshalling Yard delivered gifts to the Crisis Center “Children of Tien Shan” in Balykchy and prepared a show program for the children.
The list of organizations and communities that have received gifts from Kumtor employees included:
