On Monday, April 4, 2022, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov announced the signing of an Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers and Centerra Gold, resolving disagreements on the management of Kumtor Gold Company CJSC. According to this document, the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan received the right to full management and ownership of the Kumtor mine.

Re “KGC obligation to perform all reclamation work at the Kumtor mine after the mine closure” and “to develop a technical reclamation project in accordance with the Kyrgyz Republic laws on environmental protection and on subsoils, with determination of the amount of funding from the Reclamation Fund for reclamation of the Kumtor project facilities” 

Kumtor Gold Company CJSC handed over two new sewage trucks to Jety-Oguz and Ton districts of Issyk-Kul Province.

The Kumtor open pit mine, located in the Kyrgyz Republic, is one of the largest gold mines in Central Asia and is in the top highest mines in the world.
