22.05.2014 Operating Results of the 1st Quarter of 2014

Centerra Gold Inc. (Centerra) and Kumtor Gold Company have summed up their operating results in the 1st quarter of 2014. In the first three months of 2014, KOC produced 102,933 ounces¹ or 3,202 kg of gold and contributed more than 2.23 billion soms in taxes and mandatory payments.

19.05.2014 Balykchi Schoolchildren Learn More About Gold Production at Kumtor

On May 17, 2014, a group of schoolchildren from the city of Balykchi paid a familiarization visit to the Kumtor mine. The group was formed of the winners of a competition of essays Together with Kumtor – an event that involved more than 100 Balykchi schoolchildren eight of whom were found winners and invited to travel to Kumtor to see mine operations with their own eyes.

On May 16, 2014, a number of Kyrgyz mass media outlets published a statement by Mr. A. Jakypov, the Chairman of Kumtor Gold Company Union, to the effect that mining operations at Kumtor might be suspended and a mass-scale withdrawal of mine employees might ensue. In this regard, the Company deems it necessary to provide the following clarifications.

Kumtor Gold Company CJSC (Kumtor) transferred 750 thousand US dollars to micro-credit agencies “Jety-Oguz Finance”, “Ton Finance” and “Balykchy Finance” to support micro-crediting programs of Issyk-Kul region.

12.05.2014 Kumtor To Renovate Irrigation System in Jety-Oguz and Ton Communities

Efforts will be made to renovate irrigation systems in twelve communities of Jety-Oguz and Ton districts, Issyk-Kul province, and overhaul roads to distant pastures, for which purpose Kumtor has sent equipment (including shovels and trucks) and specialists.
