Centerra Gold Inc. (Centerra) and Kumtor Gold Company (KGC) have summed up their operating results in the second quarter of 2015. In the first six months of 2015, the Kumtor mine produced 286,383 ounces* or 8,907.51 kg of gold. The Company has contributed more than 4.8 billion soms in taxes and mandatory payments.

Last Saturday, August 8, 2015, Kumtor Company employees came out to clean up the area surrounding the Uchkun office in Bishkek. The event was organized as part of the project “The place WE call OUR second home” with the support of Company Management and administration.

The 11th Green Camp organized by the Sarychat Association in the village of Chon Jargylchak with the financial support of Kumtor Gold Company closed last week.

DEADLINE HAS EXPIRED

The 3rd International Forum of Eurasian young professionals titled Jashyl Oi 2015 was held at Kaji-Sai, Issyk-Kul province. The Jashyl Oi (“Green Thinking”) national environmental program was launched three years ago by the Youth Initiatives Promotion Fund with the support of Kumtor Gold Company.

A playground was officially commissioned in the village of Orto-Tokoy, Issyk-Kul Province, on July 11, 2015. This project was supported by Kumtor Gold Company. The event became a holiday for village children and adult residents.

Teachers and 2nd-3rd-year students of the U.Asanaliyev Mining Engineering and Technologies Institute, studying in the groups “Process Safety and Mine Rescue Work” and “Environment-Friendly Mining Engineering”, Health, Safety and Environment Department, made a tour of the Kumtor Mine last week-end.

A new stage of Start-Up Weekend under the Youth Business Project took place in the city of Karakol last weekend. This Project is being implemented by the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia (EFCA) with the financial support of Kumtor Gold Company.

Last Sunday, Kumtor Gold Company sent stationeries and books to kindergartens located in the mountain pastures in Ton and Jety-Oguz districts, Issyk-Kul province.

On June 30, 2015, Vocational School # 91 awarded diplomas to its graduates at this year’s graduation ceremony. Among graduates were five young people from the Issyk-Kul Province, who were able to receive education owing to the Scholarship Program implemented by the Kumtor Gold Company.

The Start Up Weekend organized today, June 26, 2015, in the city of Balykchi is designed to select candidates to the business-doing training program which will enable them to win grants to start their own business.
