“The MINEX Central Asia 2024 forum was held in Bishkek, after which we invited some of the delegates to visit Kumtor Gold Company.

Our impressions are wonderful. In 2018, when a similar forum was held in Bishkek for the first time, we could not visit the mine. This year we were lucky, we were able to visit the company.

First of all, I would like to note the high professionalism of the Kumtor Gold Company team. A very strict approach to personnel selection. It all started with a medical examination. Several people were rejected for health reasons. You take a very responsible approach to security issues.

The production itself also impressed us. It was very informative to learn that in addition to open-pit mining, you are going to implement an underground method that will extend the mine life.

I would like to note that Kumtor Gold Company was one of the most active subsurface users at the forum and a trip to the mine was organized for representatives of companies from 7 countries of the world. Everything was at the highest level!”

For reference: the mining and geological forum “MINEX Central Asia 2024” is held annually in one of the republics of Central Asia and is aimed at strengthening interregional and international cooperation in the field of subsoil use, facilitating the transition to climate neutrality and socio-economic development of the countries of the region.
