KUMTOR AND NAVOIY MINING AND METALLURGICAL PLANT DISCUSSED COOPERATION OPPORTUNITIES

President of CJSC Kumtor Gold Company Almazbek Baryktabasov and Director of Resources of Navoiy Mining and Metallurgical Plant Lyubov Yegorova discussed possible cooperation issues.

President of Kumtor Gold Company Almazbek Baryktabasov noted that the two largest mining companies in Central Asia have a whole range of areas for establishing mutually beneficial partnership.

Lyubov Yegorova, Director of Resources at Navoiy Mining and Metallurgical Plant, expressed interest in establishing direct and permanent contacts between the two companies to exchange experience, including on the issues of open and closed mining of gold-bearing ore.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the X Mining and Geological Forum “MINEX Central Asia 2024”.

For reference: Joint-Stock Company “Navoiy Mining and Metallurgical Plant” is one of the four largest gold producing companies in the world.

The plant is an industrial cluster that has mastered the full production cycle from geological exploration of subsurface reserves, ore extraction and processing to the production of finished products.

The share of the plant in the industrial production of the Republic of Uzbekistan is 13.5% and more than 16% of revenues to the republican budget.
