Kumtor Gold Company CJSC awarded the winners of the safety marathon in Bishkek and Karakol offices

Since October 24, 2022 in the Bishkek office and Karakol Regional Office of Kumtor Gold Company CJSC (KGC) a safety marathon was held among the company employees in order to encourage the development of a safety culture, increase the employee motivation and involvement in the occupational health and safety processes. This was the final, third stage of the mass marathon, which was attended by employees of Mine and the Balykchy Marshalling Yard.

Everyone could take part in the event, where valuable prizes and gifts were raffled off. It was necessary to register and complete the tasks of all 3 stages of the marathon. A total of 42 office workers took part in the competition.

The marathon participants had to perform the following tasks: give a written answer to what safety culture is and offer own improving methods; write what they did to make the workplace safer; write own life story where the health and safety skills and knowledge helped to save one’s life or health.

A specially created commission on the results of the marathon identified the winners with the best results on each stage. In addition, as an incentive, three winners were determined by random number generation method.

Safety of employees, production processes and environmental protection are the main priorities of Kumtor Gold Company CJSC. The Company strives to create a work environment that ensures the safety of all Company employees and contractor employees.
