New drilling rig at the Kumtor mine

The management of Kumtor Gold Company (KGC) decided to purchase a new Sandvik DR410i drilling rig.

The new drilling rig will allow meeting the performance targets and fulfilling the gold production plan. The tasks for the following years are based and developed taking into account the additionally purchased drilling rig. The equipment meets all modern safety requirements.

The rig simplifies drilling operations due to automatic functions. Sandvik Integrated Control Architecture (SICA) platform provides the operator with information about the performance and technical condition of the rig in real time. It also offers tools for drawing up drilling test certificates, reports and data analysis to ensure the quality and sustainable performance characteristics from hole to hole.

The Company’s specialists have successfully coped with the task of transporting a large-sized cargo to the Kumtor mine site. The final assembly of the drilling rig will be carried out in September with the participation of the manufacturer’s representatives.
