Employees of Kumtor Gold Company’s Marshalling Yard located in Balykchy from among the Mack truck drivers organized a fundraising for victims of the plane crash occurred on January 16, 2017 near the International Manas Airport.
A total of 71 employees took part in the fundraising event and KGS 64,000 have been collected. It was decided to donate the money collected to two children who had been orphaned after the air crash. On February 24, 2017, two drivers of Kumtor’s Marshalling Yard in Balykchy were assigned to Bishkek. They met with residents of Dacha-Su village, affected by the plane crash, and composed the act of money transfer on-site. The same day, the money was divided equally and placed on children’s deposit accounts opened in the names of Jakshylyk Sheraliev and Sultan Abakirov.
Mine Department “A” Crew employees have also rendered targeted financial aid. They have collected KGS 78,000, which, upon the team’s decision, have been channeled to support children who lost parents in the plane crash. Representatives of the Mine Department “A” Crew met with the kids’ relatives, listened to their wishes and purchased a laptop for Jakshylyk Sheraliev and a chess set for Sultan Abakirov. The rest of the money was divided equally between the children and handed over to their guardians in cash.
